vCard QR code generator

A contact card inside a QR code: scan it and your name, number and email go straight into the phone's contacts. Download it as an image, or as a .vcf file.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type or open on this page is uploaded; it works with your connection switched off once the page has loaded.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the fields you want on the card. Empty fields are left out, and fewer fields make a code that is easier to scan.
  2. Scan the preview with your phone: it should offer to add a new contact with your details.
  3. Download the PNG or SVG for a business card, flyer or email signature, or the .vcf file to attach to an email.

Need this in bulk, or from code?

The same job is one HTTP call to our API: GET /v1/qr/vcard. 100 calls a day free with no key; paid plans from $9 a month. One key works for every API.

Questions

What happens when someone scans it?

Their phone reads the contact card and offers to save it to their contacts, with the name, phone, email and the other fields you filled in. Nothing opens in a browser.

Are my details sent anywhere?

No. The card and the code are made in your browser by this page. Nothing you type is uploaded.

Which format is the contact in?

vCard 3.0, the version iPhone and Android contacts both import. The same text is in the .vcf download, which email and contact apps open directly.

Why is my code so dense?

Every field adds text to the code. A long address or note makes it denser and harder to scan from a printed card. Leave out what people do not need, or link to a web page instead with the plain QR code generator.

Can I update the details later?

No. The details are inside the code, so a change means a new code. That is also why it keeps working with no website or account behind it.
